Don't Waste Your Cancer...

{check out my dad's blog: http://home.tx.rr.com/godputthemy}

This past week, we found out that my dad has been diagnosed with stage 1 multiple myeloma. There's a lot I'd like to say, but I haven't really figured out how to express it yet. It has been very hard to process, but I remain convinced that God has not just allowed this to happen to my dad but appointed it. My dad and I are very close and of course I would not want him to go through this. At the same time, I know that he will use this to bring glory to God in a way that other people would not be able to do.

John Piper wrote an article entitled, "Don't Waste Your Cancer." You can view it here:

It is excellent and a great source of encouragement.

I think my dad's blog is evidence that he is not wasting this cancer...please check it out:

As Job says, "Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” and "Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Son, I couldn't have said it better myself. What a gift, for God trust us with the opportunities that will come with the cancer. While we miss you being here, we know God has also ordained your location, and we trust him with the separation. You'll feel much better when you see Dad for yourself, and we look forward to much time together.
Love you!

P. Daniel,
What a difference the Lord makes in the lives of His own when trials come their way. I read your dad's blog and wow, I can see where you get a lot of who you are. Your dad seems to be (and most assuredly is!) a very warm, godly, and smart man. I am praying for him and for all of you! BLessings to all of you!

She prayed to recieve Christ when Ryan and I visited her a year ago after her first surgery but we need to follow up with her. THank you again!

Dear Grandson,
Please know how our hearts are with all the family at this difficult time, and how blessed we all are by the glory God is receiving by your faithful testimony.
We love you.

Daniel,
It's hard to believe that 5yrs. has passed since my mom was also
diagnosed with what doctors say is
a terminal condition. Pulminary Hypertension in the Primary form vs.Secondary. Primary, being fatal. Doctors gave a 2-5yr. time
frame, but for 2 yrs. or better now
they have called her their miracle
lady. My mom is also a strong woman of the Lord and my faithful prayer warrior. It was as though we were mourning her loss from the very diagnosis. To the praise of the Lord they caught her in the early stages of Phase 1 and the medications etc. seem to be doing their job. She is now only in the early stages of Phase 2 of 4 Phases. We hold strongly to the belief that our God is good!!! All things are possible with God as you know :). Your parents, Whitney, and you will be in my prayers. It is ok to have good and bad days, because you will, but may the peace which passes all understanding be your comfort.
I Love you guys! Kristin Mervis
